Is it required by law that a Hotel/B+B/Guest house has apporpriate insurance in place?

E.g besides employers liabilty insurance do they require to have other insurance in place by law?

Commercial general liability, with endorsement to cover items for the guest in case of fire theft etc

• Nothing required by law but good business practice requires at least 1 million in liability in case of law suit by guests.
