HowdoImakeacomplaintagainstaninsurancebroker?

Resolved Question

HowdoImakeacomplaintagainstani…

I paid an insurance broker by cheque for insurance cover for my premises last november. I have not received cover I have telephoned him repeatedly for my paperwork (when I can get hold of him) he tells me that he will supply me with my policy, but I still have no proof of cover.

Send a recorded delivery letter to the Broker requesting the documents be issued within the next 7 days. If you do not receive a satisfactory response contact the Insurance Ombudsman with details. If you know which Insurance Company the policy is with you could try speaking direct to them as well.
The answer given is incorrect. You must follow the insurance intermediary's complaints procedure - which by law must be given to you before you buy any product from them. Only once you have done so can you proceed with the FOS. If the firm IS A BROKER contact BIBA.
