Is there an excess charge when making an insurance claim for home contents? if so, what is average?

my hubby thinks ours is £100 [this seams very high for home contents]
i am sure i never had i before [with my insurance company]

Additional Details

it will not be worth claiming for anything of around £100 then!

Yes, the excess should be stated on your documents.
