I need to get a company's public liability insurance?
i need to get a company's public liability insurance if they won't give it to me is there any way of getting hold of it?
Best Answer - Chosen by Voters
Public liability is not a compulsory insurance in the UK and therefore finding out if a company holds the cover can be very difficult if they are not willing to volunteer the information. If the company has employees, then employers liability is a compulsory insurance and the company should display the certificate at their premises. It is normal for public liability to be combined under the same policy as the employers liability, so tracking down the employers liability certificate should reveal who the public liabilty insurers are.

- Do you have a copy of their last years certificate with a particular insurer? The insurance company, whilst they may not breach privacy and give you details of the policy, they may be willing to tell you over the phone (or steer you to a website where you may download a certificate of currency if you put in the policy or reference number) that the policy is current.
