If you claim something by insurance can you still cancel your policy ?

after you file a claim on your policy. yes you can cancel your policy and get a refund on the premium based on the remaining period.

- Yes you can cancel your policy, but you may find that you have to pay the full premium for the year. Check the small print on your policy documents. Insurance is an Annual contract and if a claim has been made during the course of that policy then you may not get a refund for the remainder of the policy term - in which case it isn't worth cancelling until the term is up.25% 1 Vote
- Insurance pays for losses that occur while the policy is in force, so as long as you filed the claim during the coverage period the insurance company would be legally required to indemnify you. Whether or not that policy was still in force.
